Freeway Complex Fire UpdateUpdate Tuesday November 18, 2008 at 5:46 PM.At approximately 9:01 AM on November 15, 2008 Corona Fire Dispatch received a report of a fast moving vegetation fire in the area of Highway 71 and State Route 91. The gated community known as the Green River Homeowners Association was in the path and was evacuated. A mobile home park adjacent to the houses was put on a voluntary evacuation. All residents have since been allowed to return. A local disaster declaration has been made.
The following is a recap of the Freeway Complex Fire: CONTAINMENT: 75% EXPECTED FULL CONTAINMENT: November 19, 2008 PRELIMINARY CAUSE: CAL FIRE investigators are continuing the investigation into the Freeway Fire. It is possible the fire was caused by a vehicle's exhaust equipment; however, investigators are still evaluating evidence and witness statements. FIREFIGHTING ASSETS: an estimated 3,760 state, county, and city personnel.
