January 6th 2009—The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to terms with catcher Michel Hernandez, outfielder Jon Weber, left-handed pitcher Randy Choate, right-handed pitcher Julio DePaula, infielder Ray Olmedo and outfielder Ray Sadler to minor league contracts. Each player received an invitation to major league spring training.
January 2nd 2009—Once again the Tampa Bay Rays are doing their part to keep the Durham Bulls veteran core together for 2009. This week, the team announced outfielder Jon Weber and catcher Michel Hernandez have signed minor-league deals that include invitations to major-league spring training.
December 19th 2008—The Durham Bulls today announced Charlie Montoyo will return to manage Durham for a third season after leading the Bulls to back-to-back International League South Division Titles and Governors' Cup Finals. Montoyo will be joined by his longtime pitching coach Xavier Hernandez, but has a new hitting coach in former Buffalo Bisons coach Dave Myers and trainer Rodger Fleming.

December 16th 2008—Five years ago this coming May, Duke students Jared Weinstein and Adam Grossman unveiled a large gift to the Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League, brand new baseball fields. Now the Herald-Sun's Anna Kim catches up with Weinstein in the Oval Office and Grossman at Fenway Park for a trip down memory lane.
December 5th 2008—The chances that the Durham Bulls will see their 2008 Olympian and Team MVP got better on Friday as the Tampa Bay Rays re-signed right-handed pitcher Jeremy Cummings and outfielder/first baseman Chris Richard to minor league contracts. Each player received an invitation to major league spring training. The Rays also agreed to terms with 2006 Durham Bulls reliever Jason Childers on a minor league contract.
