| Education Foundation~Osceola County - College Night |

More than 100 colleges, universities, and scholarship donors will be available for college-bound students and their parents at College Night, sponsored in part by the Education Foundation~Osceola County and Valencia Community College. The event will be held at the Osceola Campus of Valencia Community College on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, from
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. |

| 21st Century (21st CCLC) SPIRIT Afterschool Program to Hold Lights On Afterschool! Olympic Event on October 15th |
| Osceola School District’s 21st CCLC SPIRIT Afterschool Program will sponsor a districtwide Lights On Afterschool Olympic Event on Wednesday, October 15, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Middle School, located at 1975 Michigan Avenue in St. Cloud. The event, being held in support of afterschool programs, will be one of more than 7,500 such events around the nation to be held as part of the ninth annual Lights On Afterschool celebration, organized by the Afterschool Alliance. Speakers in Osceola County will call for expanding afterschool opportunities so that every child who needs a program has access to one, and discuss the harm that results from budget cuts and freezes. |

| Take Stock in Children Applications Available |
| Take Stock in Children, a program of the Education Foundation-Osceola County, will begin accepting applications from seventh grade students on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. To apply, students must qualify for free or reduced lunch. Applications will be available for downloading at www.foundationosceola.org, from your child's school, or from the Take Stock in Children office, located at 2310 New Beginnings Road, Suite 121, in Kissimmee. The completed application is due back to the Take Stock in Children office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008. |
