Congratulations to the winners of the Hayward City Council race including four candidates endorsed by the Chamber Political Action Committee. In addition the Chamber supported Yes for Kids School Bond passed by a wide margin. Measure I will generate more than 200-million dollars in funding for new schools. | |

| Construction at the Cinema Place project continues in Downtown Hayward. The multi-million dollar "B" Street project should be complete on or around October 31st, 2008. Cinema Place is the centerpiece of the Downtown retail attraction program. More than 80% of the retail space has been leased. |
