The Financial Audit Committee will meet on Monday May 12, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 401 E. Chapman Avenue. The Committee will be discussing the 2006/2007 Fiscal Year Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the City of Placentia and the City of Placentia Redevelopment Agency. CAL-TRANS AUDIT UPDATE

As previously reported the City has been dealing with a disallowance from Cal-Trans on $36.2 million in grant funding to pay for the Orangethorpe Corridor railroad related projects. On Monday April 14, 2008 Finance Director Terrence Beaman met with Cal-Trans officials in Sacramento in regards to the current on-going Cal-Trans audit of the City of Placentia. Mr. Beaman informed the City Council on April 15, 2008 that the Finance Department has been able to account for the entire $8.2 million in federal money and 94% of State funds, or $26 million. Approximately 96% of the entire $36.2 million has been reconciled to our accounting system. The remaining 4% are State funded items that are less than $25,000 which consist of over a thousand transactions. City Staff feel confident that should Cal-Trans request we provide documentation at the lower amount, City Staff would, in time, be able to provide that documentation. More...
